Dear KCAA Families,
I hope that you all enjoyed your Spring Break and are ready for the big push to the end of the year! CMAS begins next week for 3rd through 5th grade. We know that testing can be stressful for students. At KCAA, we are committed to creating an environment where stress is minimized and the demonstration of student knowledge is celebrated. The daily schedule will be impacted, however, students will continue to receive their arts. The schedule for your child will be as follows. We will also have a fun CMAS Prep Assembly tomorrow!
We hope to see many of you at our Spring Fling First Friday!
Join us for Lunch and support our students! 11:05-11:55
Families – we welcome you in joining your student for lunch in the cafeteria and also on the playground. Please be sure to sign in at the main office and be aware that if you bring in lunch for your student we ask that you not share food with other students (in case of food allergy or food preferences). If you would be interested in signing up for a regular lunch ‘duty’ to support the safety of our lunch and play times at the elementary level please email or call our parent liaison, Rachel Moen at 720-424-0218 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
KCAA Elementary attendance in March was 93%. This is well below the district expectation of 97%. This week we are at 92%. Attendance is critical to your child’s success! Help us reach our goals by ensuring your child is here every day! As a reminder, we have ice cream parties for every classroom after they receive 15 days of perfect attendance.
Calendar & Schedule
There is staff supervision on the playgrounds beginning at 8:00 AM. Students MAY NOT be dropped off at school before 8:00 AM or left on school property after 4:00 PM, except for a specific function (e.g., enrichment classes). There is no after school supervision. The school day begins at 8:35am and ends at 3:49pm.
Please be sure your children arrive to school by 8:30am every day. If a child is 5 minutes late to school, that adds up to 25 minutes a week, 100 minutes a month, and 3700 minutes a year. That equates to almost nine school days! As a reminder, students will be allowed into the building from the blacktop doors until 9am. They will go straight to class if they arrive between 8:35am and 8:45am. The teacher will mark the tardy. Between 8:45am and 9:00am, they will retrieve a tardy pass from the Elementary Secretary. If they arrive after 9:00am, they must enter through the main doors.
