Hi. I’m Erica Atchison and love teaching my kindergarten class. Is is so fun and rewarding. I grew up in Incline Village, Nevada, a small town on the the north shore of beautiful Lake Tahoe. I graduated from the University of Nevada in Reno and earned my masters degree from
UNLV. I’v taught in Nevada, Arizona and now Colorado. I have a
wonderful husband, James, and two very active dogs who love to run.
Hello! My name is Shelby Finney and this is my second year teaching kindergarten at KCAA. Before coming to KCAA, I taught 1st grade in Colorado Springs for four years. I am a Hope College graduate; majoring in special education and elementary education. After graduation, I moved from Michigan to Colorado for the mountains, sunshine and adventure! I got married this summer and my husband Matt and I love spending our free time camping and hiking. I also enjoy playing tennis and volleyball, cheering on the MSU Spartans, Hope College Dutchmen, and A&M Aggies and going on road trips.
Why do I teach? I teach because…
I love kids, I believe all children can learn and I want to make a difference. I love light bulb moments, celebrating small achievements, helping students persevere and getting students fired up about learning new things!
