After School Classes and Clubs – Second Semester
After School Enrichment Classes begin January 14th, and will meet for 15 consecutive weeks; every day there is school (see DPS calendar + KCAA changes: no school Monday 5/6; full day school 5/17 and 5/24)
After School Enrichment Classes End Dates:
Monday Classes: end 5/20 (KCAA only – no school for students on 5/6)
Tuesday Classes: end 5/21 (due to snow day, Tuesday classes meet an extra week)
Wednesday Classes: end 5/1
Thursday Classes: end 5/2
Friday Classes: end 5/10 (Yoga started one week late in January)
After School Enrichment Class Start specific dates:
Mondays: January 14, 28; February 4, 11, 25; March 4, 11, 18; April 1, 8, 15, 22, 29; May 13, 20
Tuesdays: January 15, 29; February 5, 12, 26; March 5, 12, 19; April 2, 9, 16, 23, 30; May 7, 14, add 21 (make up from snow day)
Wednesdays: January 16, 23, 30; February 6, 13, 20, 27; March 6, 13, 20; April 3, 10, 17, 24; May 1
Thursdays: January 17, 24, 31; February 7, 14, 21, 28; March 7, 14, 21; April 4, 11, 18, 25; May 2
Fridays: January 25; February 1, 8, 15, 22; March 1, 8, 15, 22; April 5, 12, 19, 26; May 3, 10
After School Enrichment Class procedures:
Before Class: After School Enrichment Class students will go directly to cafeteria right after school to have snacks and social time. Parents, please send a snack with your student.
A few minutes before 4:00p, the teachers will come get the students and take them to the classroom.
Exceptions to this are students in Glee Club with Angela Maez, Chess Club with Jim Hodges, Art Classes with Mel Piazza and Theresa McGuire, and Creative Writing with JaMese Stepanak . They will eat their snacks outside the classrooms, instead of coming all the way up the cafeteria, and going all the way back to the elementary classrooms.
After Class: Parent/Guardians can pick up students at the classroom at 5:00p. Any students not picked up by 5:00p will be brought to the front lobby area outside the main office. Please use the main doors off S. Quitman St. or W. Iliff Ave.
KCAA After School Clubs meeting times and calendar may vary from the After School Classes. Please get specific Club information from the Club teacher. A complete list of classes and clubs is listed below, and posted on the three KCAA bulletin boards.
